Description

The CyberPower SX650U is a standby UPS with surge protection. If utility power fails, it switches to battery in about 8 ms. That keeps connected equipment running long enough for a proper shutdown, which helps prevent data loss and the stress a hard shutdown puts on electronics.

On battery, it puts out a simulated sine wave at 120V AC. That works for equipment that doesn't need pure sine wave power, like computers, routers and modems, VoIP phones, and home theater gear. Four of the eight outlets are spaced wide enough for large transformer plugs, and two USB-A ports charge phones and tablets.

The UPS plugs into a standard wall outlet. It connects to a computer by USB, so you can monitor and control it with CyberPower's free PowerPanel Personal software. It's ENERGY STAR qualified, and its GreenPower UPS high-efficiency design keeps power use low.
