Description

Our Smokies38 series is a 1.50" diameter round polycarbonate tube with a slot for an aluminum LED mounting plate (Yukon). The LED mounting plate slides into the plastic tube and acts as the physical carrier and heat sink for the LED strip.

Our Smokies38 tubes are made of strong polycarbonate and are available in frosted white (opal) or black (smoky gray) options to suit your application. The tubes appear as solid white or black when they are unlit, and take on the LED color when illuminated. This is particularly effective when combined with an RGB or RGB pixel LED strip. Our polycarbonate LED tubes are a suitable replacement for frosted acrylic (PMMA) lighting cylinders.

These tubes are strong enough to be self-supporting, which allows for many imaginative installations such as a horizontally suspended tube light (from each end) or a vertical pendant light (from one end), as a floor standing column or pillar light, or simply as a wall-mounted fixture.

We also offer this Smokies38 series acrylic diffuser tube profile as a completely clear LED tube.

We do not recommend to use polycarbonate for outdoor applications because it may discolor when exposed to high UV levels.

• Please note that raw or natural profiles channels are not anodized and need to be coated or painted, or they will oxidize over time in outdoor applications.
• LED profiles can easily be cut by hand or by machine.
