Description

The openSensor is a small, battery-powered wireless sensor designed to monitor open and close status using WiFi connectivity. It provides reliable detection for doors, windows, gates, cabinets, and enclosures, making it suitable for smart home and automation applications.

This door and window sensor supports both 2-state (open/closed) and 3-state (open/tilted/closed) detection. The 3-state mode is designed for surface-mounted installation on the lower part of window frames, allowing accurate monitoring of standard windows, roof and skylight windows, balcony doors, and sliding terrace HS/HST doors.

The openSensor is compatible with a wide range of applications, including doors, gates, barn boxes, animal enclosures, tool cabinets, medicine cabinets, electrical panels, and IT or multimedia cabinets. It can also function as a WiFi reed switch for general access monitoring and security use.

The sensor works with the free wBox app for smartphones and computers, enabling real-time status monitoring from anywhere. Users can view activity history for up to 12 months through interactive charts and export data in CSV or XLSX formats for analysis and record keeping.

Push notifications and alerts can be sent directly to a smartphone, with customizable message content for specific events. This allows immediate awareness of opening or closing actions and improves security monitoring.

The openSensor supports wireless automation with other BleBox controllers. Based on the detected open or closed state, it can trigger actions for compatible BleBox devices such as switchBox, shutterBox, actuator, and damper controllers, enabling advanced smart home scenarios.

Two physical signal outputs provide wired status indication, allowing integration with alarm systems and external automation or industrial control systems. The device is powered by a safe 5–48 V DC supply and supports ELV, FELV, PELV, and SELV circuits, eliminating the need for battery replacement and ensuring stable long-term operation.

The sensor offers direct, local, and remote communication modes. It can operate via its own WiFi network, through a local home network without internet access, or remotely using the BleBox cloud. Local communication ensures automation reliability even during internet outages.

Integration with Google Home and Amazon Alexa allows users to check open or closed status through voice commands or smart home apps. Multiple users can securely access the device through the BleBox cloud, with servers located in the EU, USA, and Canada for reliability and privacy.

For outdoor or weather-exposed installations, compatibility with the blebox twinMagnet waterproof accessory provides improved magnetic alignment and protection, especially for accurate 3-state window detection.
