LED Light Bases for Edge-Lit Acrylic

(16 products)

Our LED light bases for edge-lit acrylic are aluminum and plastic channels that hold a strip of LEDs against the cut edge of an acrylic panel, lighting the engraving or surface treatment from inside the sheet. The range covers slim sign-base channels that slot a flat panel in vertically, shelf brackets that edge-light an acrylic shelf from underneath, and standoff kits for projection-mounted signs that float off the wall. Pair any of them with a high-CRI LED strip and a driver to finish the build.

Edge-Lit LED Sign Profiles for Acrylic Panels, Shelves, and Standoff Builds

Aluminum Sign Base Channels for Edge-Lit Acrylic LED Signs

A sign base channel holds the acrylic panel vertically and lights it from the bottom edge. The Mikro10 is the smallest profile on this page, sized for 1/4" (6mm) acrylic and ideal for compact retail signs, menu boards, and tabletop displays. The Hannover handles standard signage thicknesses and is available in silver, black, or white finishes. The Ginebra is the deeper option for thicker acrylic and longer signs where you need more LED capacity to evenly light a larger panel. For non-conductive applications or when cost is the deciding factor, the New Jersey plastic edge-lit channel covers the same use case at a lower price point. Each profile is sold by the meter with end caps and LED strips as separate components, so the build matches the exact panel dimension.

Shelf Bracket Channels That Edge-Light Acrylic Shelves

The Pula P10 is the only profile on this page that combines a shelf bracket with an LED channel. The bracket mounts to the wall, the acrylic shelf slots into the top, and the LED strip housed in the bracket lights the shelf from the rear edge so the engraving or frosted pattern glows. Used in bar back displays, retail shelving, and high-end residential applications where the shelf needs to read as a lit feature rather than a piece of furniture with a strip stuck underneath it. Each bracket carries the structural load of the shelf and the LED channel in a single aluminum extrusion, which keeps the install clean and serviceable.

Standoff Kits for Projection-Mounted Edge-Lit LED Signs

Standoff kits hold an acrylic panel off the wall on machined hardware, with the LED strip housed inside the standoff itself so it lights the panel's edges from multiple points. This is the build for projection-mounted blade signs, illuminated logos, and large-format edge-lit displays where the sign needs to read as a floating feature rather than a flat panel against the wall. The kits combine signage standoffs with an integrated LED edge-lighting channel, so you don't have to engineer a separate fixing system to keep the sign and the lighting working together. We can fabricate complete edge-lit signs to spec from our Knoxville micro-factory if the project needs custom acrylic, engraving, or CNC routing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these edge-lit profiles come with the LED strip?

No. The aluminum or plastic channel is sold separately from the LED strip, driver, and any controller, so you can match the strip color, brightness, and voltage to the sign. Each product page lists compatible strip widths at the bottom.

What thickness of acrylic do edge-lit channels fit?

Most profiles on this page fit standard acrylic thicknesses from 1/4" up to 1/2". The Mikro10 is sized for 1/4" panels. The Hannover and Ginebra handle thicker stock. Check the dimensions on each product page before ordering to confirm the slot width matches your acrylic.

Are edge-lit LED signs dimmable?

Yes. The channel itself is passive aluminum or plastic. The dimming happens at the driver or LED controller upstream of the strip, so any of the dimmable drivers and Casambi or wall-switch controllers in our range will work with these profiles.

Can I cut the edge-lit channels to length?

Yes. Cut them in the field using a fine-tooth hacksaw or a miter saw with an aluminum blade. We also cut to length at no extra charge if you send the measurements with the order. Once cut, the profile and cover can't be returned.

What's the best LED strip color for edge-lit acrylic signs?

High-CRI white strips give the cleanest, most legible edge-lit effect on engraved or frosted acrylic. RGB and RGBW strips work where the sign needs to change color or run a color scene. The strip needs to fit the slot width of the chosen profile, which is listed on each product page.

Can edge-lit acrylic signs be used outdoors?

The profiles on this page are rated for indoor use. For outdoor signage exposed to weather, ask about waterproof channels and resin-filled custom builds instead.
