Description
The OCTO is a little box that packs a huge punch.
The OCTO is a 32-universe eDMX quad-output pixel LED controller precision engineered and made in Australia. Robust and reliable, this installation-grade smart controller connects directly to LED strips and pixels, and is engineered to take any architectural, commercial, or entertainment project to the next level.
Designed with ultra-fast deployment of pixel LED strips and pixel dot systems in mind, the OCTO has eDMX support for Art-Net, sACN, ESP, and KiNet data, and is compatible with almost every SPI LED strip due to custom protocols and an industry-leading voltage input range.
The standard output is 6 DMX Universes per port, 12U total, but if you need to control more than that, the OCTO's automatic Overdrive Mode will boost your output up to 8 Universes per port at the cost of a lower update frame rate. And if you don't need the Clock outputs, you can enable "split port" mode to use them as additional Data outputs – increasing the maximum output to 24 Universes normally or 32 Universes in Overdrive Mode.
With its easy-to-use localhost web interface, you can create gradient effects effortlessly via the inbuilt FX engine. Run them as standalone shows on power-up, eliminating the need for a DMX source.
Its installer-friendly features include network chaining, custom output protocols, plus an identify button to check correct wiring without a data source. What's more, with flexible TS35 DIN rail or surface mount options to choose from, the OCTO is the ultimate go-to LED pixel control device for almost any scenario.
Here are some key features of the OCTO LED pixel controller:
Standalone FX mode: Create and edit gradient effects with real-time preview via the onboard FX generator, and set them to play automatically upon power-up with no DMX source or user interaction needed.
Overdrive Mode: When you need some extra output, the OCTO will kick into Overdrive mode, increasing the output per port from 6U to 8U. It's automatically activated when the Octo is configured to output more than 6U per port – because you never know when you might need that little bit extra. And it works when using "port splitting" as well, bringing the total output to 32 universes.
Port Sync Technology: When using multiple ports with different protocols or DMX universes, timing mismatches can create visual inconsistencies. The OCTO's Port Sync feature ensures all ports stay synchronised, preventing inconsistencies and ensuring smooth operation across your entire installation.
Wide input voltage range and multiple power input options: With an industry-leading, wide input voltage range of 4-60V, the OCTO can be powered directly by your LED pixel strip or dots via either port, eliminating the need for extra wires or dedicated power supplies. It's a dream device for a fast, efficient install.
Easy fault-finding: The auto-refreshing view of channel values for each universe combined with network stats means you know exactly what data you are receiving and where it's coming from. And with the Identify button setting the output to max, installers can quickly check if wiring is correct without having to rely on incoming data.
Installer-friendly features: The OCTO supports multiple integrated circuits, has an intuitive configuration enabling the device to be heavily tailored to your projects, and its slim 4-DIN-unit form factor allows for discreet surface or TS-35 DIN-rail mounting.
Independent output protocols: The OCTO has two output ports, and each can be configured to use a different protocol, allowing you to control two completely different strips with a single OCTO controller. For example, you can control regular pixel tape and ENTTEC pixel dots with the same unit.
Custom protocols: The OCTO supports more than 20 pixel protocols by default within the device, with and without a clock line. In the event of a missing protocol, the custom protocol feature allows users to create a custom protocol for their desired pixel fixture anytime — without having to submit a support request for new firmware.
The user-friendly web interface, network chaining, custom protocols, and multiple mounting options make the precision-engineered Australian-made OCTO an excellent LED pixel control solution. If you need to control pixel LEDs, the Enttec OCTO can likely do what you need and more.
