DALI Lighting Control

(16 products)

DALI lighting control gives architects, designers, and building managers a level of precision and flexibility that traditional analog systems simply cannot match. Short for Digital Addressable Lighting Interface, DALI is a two-way digital communication protocol that allows individual drivers, ballasts, sensors, and controllers to send and receive information across a single two-wire bus, enabling everything from fine-tuned dimming and scene setting to real-time fault detection and energy monitoring.

How DALI Lighting Control Works

At the core of every DALI lighting control system is a two-wire bus that connects all components into a single addressable network, including the bus power supply, application controllers, input devices, and LED drivers. Each device on the network carries a unique address, allowing commands to be sent to individual fixtures or dynamically assigned groups without rewiring. The updated DALI-2 standard, released in 2020 and compliant with IEC 62386, further expands on these capabilities with improved interoperability between products from different manufacturers, support for a broader range of control devices, and enhanced system security.

DALI Lighting Control for Commercial & Architectural Applications

DALI lighting control is widely used in office buildings, hotels, retail environments, museums, and other large commercial spaces where granular, scalable control over lighting is essential. A single DALI network can support up to 64 individually addressed devices, with each device assignable to up to 16 groups and 16 scenes, giving lighting designers enormous creative and functional flexibility within a single system. Two-way communication also means the system can report back on fixture status and energy consumption in real time, making it straightforward to identify malfunctioning units across an entire building without a manual inspection.
